Angels have been known by many names throughout history and across different cultures. They were known as Messengers by the Hittites, who bridged the gap between the gods and humans. In ancient Sumer they were known as the Anunnaki. The Old Testament refers to them as the Nephilim. Angels are immortal but they are not eternal. They are winged celestial beings that serve as both messengers of the Gods and as soldiers in their holy war against the unholy forces of chaos. They are native to the Spirit Realm and are imbued with holy light and immense power.
Angels require a host in order to manifest themselves in the Material Realm. Persons who have been possessed by an angel are considered to be “Touched by God”. This being said, once a character is “Touched” she will retain certain powers even after the possession is over. Angelic hosts are known as “Vessels”.
