Items, like people and places, can be possessed by demonic entities or haunted by powerful spirits. There is no difference between what can be haunted or possessed, as the process is exactly the same. Items can begin gameplay as haunted or possessed, or they can be used as a story device, becoming haunted or possessed in real time.

These items are almost always used as plot devices, and should be treated as such. A haunted house or sports car can be at the center of an adventure, or may even be integral to completing an adventure.

Objects that are haunted by ghosts or possessed by demons may be purified, sanctified and exorcised as needed. The Difficulty Rating for exorcisms is based on the demon or ghost rating.
