AMARANTH

Amaranth is known as the flower of immortality. Amaranth flowers can be wrapped in a clean white cloth and worn near your heart to make you more difficult to strike in battle.

AMULET

Amulets are enchanted objects that protect its owner from danger, harm or evil. Amulets come in many forms from engraved gems, statues, coins, pendants, and rings. Amulets provide a +1 equipment bonus to the owner’s Defense Target Number.

ANOINTING OIL

Anointing oil is a holy oil blessed by a High Priest and used to anoint, or purify, Priests on the completion of their holy pilgrimage and prior to their induction into the priestly order of their choosing

ATHAME

An athame is a magical or ceremonial dagger. It represents the element of fire and is used when a ritual requires a sacrifice. If wielded as a Bladed Weapon, this item will deal 1d6 DMG (2d6 DMG against Chaotic Creatures). This ornately inscribed dagger with a magnetized blade is used to focus power and is used in a variety of rituals and spells.

BLOOD

Human or animal blood can be used in magic. Blood of innocent children or creatures is commonly used by Dark Priests in sacrificial offerings, while necromancers will use blood to conjure spirits.

Human and animals can be used as a focus in spellcasting to store and release spiritual energy.

CANDLE

Candles have a wide variety of uses in magic. They are necessary for summoning spirits, creating magical circles and can be used to conjure powerful fire-based spells. Once used, this item will be permanently destroyed.

CAT'S EYE

A cat’s eyeball can be used to provide temporary Darkvision. This item can be used once per day and must be properly preserved.

CAULDRON

An iron cauldron or kettle is used to prepare Sabbat feasts, magical brews, potions and poisons. Clairvoyants fill their cauldron with water and view the future reflected on the water’s surface.

CHALICE

A small container, or drinking horn, used to hold sacrificial blood, wine or water. Chalices can be used to communicate with spirits and demonic entities.

CHALICE OF CALLING

This magical chalice is filled with the blood of a sacrificial victim and is used like a two-way radio to communicate with demonic entities.

CHALK

Chalk is commonly used in drawing magical circles, runes, demonic sigils and other magical symbols. Chalk is commonly found in old, abandoned schools and arts and crafts stores.

CHRYSANTHEMUM

A chrysanthemum flower can be used to temporarily calm an aggressor during battle. This magical flower can also be used to deepen your connection to the Spirit Realm, allowing for communication with the dead and can even be used to perform a Spirit Walk.

Coffee can be magically enhanced to provide +2 Speed for duration of the spell. Once used, this item will be permanently destroyed.

Coffin nails can be used in some dark necromantic spells.

CORD

A magical binding cord, or cingulam, is often worn around the waist and used in binding rituals. It must measure nine feet in length and crafted from cotton, silk, wool or hemp.

CRYSTAL

These precious stones can be used to store magical energy. Crystals can store up to 5 EP and can even be used to trap spirits or demonic entities.

CRYSTAL BALL

Al Crystal Ball is a smooth ball of crystal, or glass, commonly used by diviners and oracles to increase their powers of clairvoyance.

DANDELION SEEDS

Dandelion seeds can be used to summon spirits and calm the wind following a similar spell. Dandelion seeds must be harvested during a full moon.

DEMON SCALES

This powerful magical item can be used to bind a demon to a piece of armor, weapon or to oneself. Once a demon scale is bound to an item, it can never be removed except through an exorcism. Demon Scale provides +2 AR to armor or +2 to DMG.

Ectoplasm is a gauze-like substance that appears when a ghost or spirit manifests itself in the Physical Realm. This substance allows the supernatural entity to interact with the Physical Realm.

ELDERBERRY FRUIT

Elderberry fruit can be eaten to quickly recover Essence Points. For each berry you consume, you will regain 1 EP, not to exceed your maximum Essence Points.

FEATHER

Bird feathers can be used to cast a temporary flight spell. Feathers crafted into quills are commonly used to inscribe grimoires and spellbooks and are often used in purification or cleansing rituals.

FETISH

A Fetish can be any man-made object that is imbued with power over others (this includes voodoo dolls, hexbags and other jujus). A Fetish will provide a +1 equipment bonus when casting spells that manipulate other characters, creatures and objects.

FINGERNAIL

Fingernails of humans or animals can be used in various necromantic spells. They can be used in the construction of voodoo dolls and other fetishes, providing a link with the owner of the fingernails.

FLESH

Human or animal flesh can be offered as a sacrifice, or it may be consumed for necromantic spells and other dark rituals.

GARLIC CLOVE

As most people are aware, garlic can be used to repel vampires and demonic entities, but garlic can also be used to improve the effectiveness of Spellcasting when carried as an amulet. Garlic cloves provides a +1 equipment bonus when casting a spell.

GLUE

Any type of glue or sticky substance can be used in a binding spell. The stronger the glue used, the stronger the spell will be. Once used, this item will be permanently destroyed.

GRAVEDUST

Dust from a tomb, crypt or mausoleum can be used to perform a variety of necromantic spells to include conjuration of ghosts and Deadspeak. Gravedust can be used to drain the health from a living creature.

HEMLOCK

This powerful magical plant is given to initiates in the Order of the Morning Star to induce a deep trance-like state. A tea made of hemlock can be used to perform astral travel to the Spirit Realm. Be careful, as hemlock is also a very potent poison.

HOLY ANCHOR

Usually a larger form of a Holy Symbol representing one of the gods or goddesses, these devices are constructed on Sanctified Ground and other Holy Sites to protect the location from chaos.

HOLY SYMBOL

A small personal symbol or artifact that represents a priests’ personal deity. Each god and goddess will have their own unique Holy Symbol.

HOLY WATER

Holy water is water that has been purified and blessed by a Priest. It causes damage to undead creatures and demonic entities as if it were acid. Holy water will deal 1d6 DMG against undead creatures, such as ghosts, spirits and poltergeists and will deal 2d6 DMG against evil or demonic entities.

INCENSE

This item can be burned during a purification and cleansing rituals in order to purify an area of evil energy. It is common for Holy Temples and Dark Temples to constantly burn incense.

KUNDELA

A human or animal bone loaded with chaotic energy can be used to instantly kill any character or creature. This artifact can only be used once, as it is destroyed in the process.

LEAVES

You can use any type of tree or plant leaf to release the stored sunlight. This light will glow from the leaf in a radius equivalent to the Spell Rating (in meters). Once used, this item will be permanently destroyed.

MANDRAKE ROOT

Also known as mandragora, the root of this magical plant resembles a human figure. Be careful when pulling up a mandrake root, as its scream can kill a man. Therefore it is advised that you device a contraption to pull the root from the ground without exposing yourself. Mandrake root can be used to chase away lesser demonic entities.

MONGOOSE FOOT

This item can be used to provide +2 Speed for duration of the spell. This item can be used once per day.

OLD IRON NAILS

This item, when sewn into armor, will increase the total amount of Armor Protection by +1 AP. This applies only to the armor piece containing the iron nails. This item provides a constant effect.

PEYOTE

Peyote is also known as the Divine Cactus, as it can increase your connection to the Spirit Realm and expand your ability to tap into the healing powers of primordial chaos.

PLANT ROOT

A small piece of any type of plant or tree root can be used to cast an Entangle spell, which calls upon all nearby plants to temporarily entangle your target. Once used, this item will be permanently destroyed.

RABBIT'S FOOT

A rabbit’s foot can be used to fashion a good-luck charm. This item can be used once per day to avoid danger.

RAT'S TAIL

A rat’s tail can be used to provide a +1 bonus to all Stealth Tests. This item can be used once per day.

ROSE

Any color of rose can be used to provide a temporary +1 Charm bonus. Once used, this item will be permanently destroyed.

SALT

Ordinary iodized table salt can be used in several magical spells; it can be used to create a magical barrier to keep demons and spirits at bay, it can be loaded into shotgun shells to stun demons and spirits or it can be used in purification rituals.

SAND

Sand can be used by geomancers and other magic users to cast various earth-based spells. It can be used in creating magic circles and other magical barriers.

SHELL

Any typical seashell, freshwater shell and shells from land creatures can be used in magic. Shells represent the element of water and are commonly used as a chalice during purification and cleansing rituals.

SOIL

Soil is commonly used to grow plants and vegetables, but can also be used by geomancers to cast various earth-based spells.

SPIDER LEGS

Spider legs, when digested, can be used to cast a Climb Wall spell, allowing you to climb walls like a spider without incurring a Movement penalty.

ST JOHN'S WORT

St. John’s Wort should only be picked on Midsummer Night’s Eve and then dried over a ceremonial bonfire. It can be used to provide protection from both physical and magical attacks by soaking the leaves in either olive oil or holy water. After combining St. John’s Wort with olive oil (protection from physical attacks) or holy water (protection from magic), rub the liquid over your body or armor for protection.

TALISMAN

A Talisman is any sacred or holy object favored by a particular god or goddess. Talismans are commonly used by Priests when casting spells, or when performing rituals and sacrifices. Talismans provide the Priests and Dark Priests a +1 equipment bonus when casting spells and performing rituals.

TAROT CARDS

Tarot cards consist of seventy-eight cards, broken down into Major Arcana and minor Arcana. The Major Arcana, or trump cards, includes twenty-two cards without suits. The Minor Arcana consists of fifty-six cards, divided into four suits of fourteen cards each. By arranging these cards into specific geometric arrangements in order to divine the future.

Thistle flowers can be used to strengthen your connection to the Spirit Realm and is also used in various healing spells.

TIGER'S CLAW

An actual tiger’s claw, not to be confused with a magical stone by the same name, can be used to provide a +1 to your Base Attack Bonus.

TOBACCO

Tobacco leaves, when burned, can be used to purify an area and dispel it of evil spirits. Fresh tobacco leaves can be used as an offering to spirits and are important in summoning rituals involving ghosts, spirits and other supernatural entities.

TOTEM

A Totem is the physical representation of a powerful Animal Spirit or deity that appears in the form of an animal, and serves as the Spirit Totem, or Spirit Animal, for an entire family, clan or tribe. A hand-sized totem can be used by shamans to gain a +1 equipment bonus when casting spells.

WALNUT FRUIT

Walnut fruit can be used to enhance mental abilities (Wits +1) or create a connection to the Spirit Realm by holding a walnut in each hand.

WATER

Water can be purified by a Priest into Holy Water, by a Dark Priest to become Tainted Water, and can be used by a geomancer to cast water-based spells.

WOLF'S PELT

Wolf’s hair can be used to cast a +1 Toughness spell. It can also be used in conjunction with a Wolf Totem to transform a character into a half-man/ half-wolf, or Hexenwolf.

VENUS FLY TRAP

The mutated version of this plant has been known to eat pets and small children, but this magical plant can also be used to remove Chaos Points by creating a salve from the plant and then rubbing the salve on your skin and hair.
